The Commercial Driver Training Foundation has set up a scholarship program, offering 2,200 partial scholarships to trucking schools across the United States.

The application process is very simple, and the only additional requirement is a copy of your Form DD214.

CDTFI has been in the news recently, with many schools jumping on the bandwagon to give scholarships. In addition, CDTFI is working on another new project. Check back often to learn more about future projects.

Commercial Driver Training Foundation

The Commercial Driver Training Foundation was established to: Click Hear to Learn More About Drive The Guard

  • Help improve the quality of truck driver training
  • Assist training programs in offering quality training opportunities
  • Assist students in attending training programs
  • Promote the truck driver occupation

 

The first undertaking of the foundation was the creation of a Military Scholarship Assistance Program to help veterans and active duty personnel in obtaining the training necessary to succeed in the trucking industry. Under this program, CDTF has made available in calendar-year 2006 more than 2,200 partial scholarships.

 

CDTF is a not-for-profit corporation established under the laws of the District of Columbia. CDTF is governed by a Board of Directors with a collective experience of more than a century of training new entrants into the industry.

The Commercial Driver Training Foundation came about through its sister organization, The Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA). If you do not find a particular school or a school within a specific state that participates in the military scholarship program, we suggest that you look at the CVTA website, which has truck driving school members in almost every state. Mission Statement

  • Promote, aid and support the academic and educational programs, and other areas of operations, offered by the commercial driver training and related industries, and assisiting students enrolled in those institutions;
  • Supporting excellence in instruction, research, scholastics and facilitating communications which are pertinent to the commercial driver training and related industries and their instructional programs;
  • Supporting students and faculty of institutions involved in the commercial driver training and related industries, and other interested parties, by developing and conducting research, and educational activities; and
  • Supporting public service activities on behalf of the commercial driver training and related industries by enhancing the overall quality of supportive services available to those organizations.
